Two different 7-hour tours to discover the sustainable farming practices applied at a fully organic farm. You can either attend a cooking class or participate in an olive oil and wine tasting seminar. Whatever you choose, get ready to become one with nature and experience the beauty that this land has to offer.

 

 

Where

You will visit an organic farm located in a very small village in Laconia, 150km (90 mi) from Kalamata. The organic farm produces olive oil and wine, strictly through sustainable farming practices and techniques. It also operates as a retreat, offering unique experiences, close to nature.

Join us for a 4-hour guided tour of the farm, veggie picking and a cooking class.


Part 1: Tour of the Farm

Start off with a guided tour around the facilities of the Organic Farm. You’ll find out all about our sustainable farming methods and techniques at the Organic Farm.

Part 2: Veggie Picking

Take a stroll around our veggie gardens. Pick fresh, organic veggies and feel closer to nature than ever.

Part 3: Cooking Class

Learn how to make delicious traditional meals during a 3-hour cooking class.
Assisted by local chefs, who’ll share their experience with you, you’ll get to create special dishes using local products.

Part 4: Traditional Local Lunch

Feast on a traditional meal that includes 3 appetizers and 1 main dish.
All meals are accompanied by the Organic Farm, wine from our vineyards and unique drinks, such as our very own homemade lemonade.

Part 2: Tour of the Vineyards & Olive Groves

Take a majestic stroll through our vineyards and olive groves. Some of our olive trees have been standing on this land for more than 500 years!
You’ll also discover the history and the mentality behind organic farming.
The tour of the vineyards is only available May to September.

Part 3: Olive Oil Tasting & Food Pairing

Discover the rich taste and texture of fresh, extra virgin olive oil and the Greek olive varieties. This unique olive oil experience will teach you how to distinguish among the various olive oil varieties and choose the best one for your cooking or your dinner table. You’ll also get tips from our resident experts on how to best store your olive oil.

Part 4: Wine Tasting & Food Pairing

You’ll get to taste 5 different labels of organic wines: Agiorgitiko, Avgoustiatis, Athyri, Kydonitsa and Moschofilero. Our wine sommelier will guide you through the whole experience and introduce to you to the magnificent world of organic wines. Discover varieties unknown outside of Greece and embark on a beautiful journey through the unique Greek terroir.

The Extras

Depending on the season and provided time permits, you may participate in extra activities.

The Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil is located in Sparta. This activity is available with Tour 2.

Tips

To make your visit even more memorable, here are some tips:

  • Wear comfortable shoes and a hat as you’ll spend quite a bit of time outdoors.
  • Notify us of any special dietary needs (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, pescaterian, flexitarian, etc).
  • Notify us of any allergies (e.g. food allergies, allergies to bees, etc.).

Semi private groups 4-7 persons: 178,00€ / per person (Tour 1: Cooking class)

For the Cooking class max. persons: 7

Semi private groups 4-7 persons: 160,00 € / per person (Tour 2: Olive and Wine tasting seminar)

If you have your own vehicle and want to opt out of the hotel pick up, you can meet us in Kalamata, and make the tour together with your vehicle!

 

Cancellation Policy

Mama's flavours reserves the right to postpone or cancel the activity due to bad weather. If the tour is cancelled, you may choose an alternative date or request a full refund.
